2013 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Coin On-Sale Dates

Today, May 29, 2013, the United States Mint announced on-sale dates for the four remaining 2013 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins.

The first release, depicting White Mountain National Forest, went on sale just over two weeks ago. The second in the series comes out next week. The third arrives later in June. The next two are staggered with one appearing in August and the last in November.

These bullion releases occur just a few days earlier than their companion collector versions, the 2013 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins. Here is the schedule for the on-sale dates of both sets of coins.

2013 America the Beautiful silver coins honor White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial of Ohio, Great Basin National Park of Nevada, Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine of Maryland and Mount Rushmore National Memorial of South Dakota.

The five designs for each of these sites are shared by the two sets of silver coins, and the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters. For quarter collectors, the first and second quarters for 2013 have already started circulating. Release dates for this year’s quarters are:

• January 28 for White Mountain quarters
• April 1 for Perry’s Victory quarters
• June 10 for Great Basin quarters
• August 26 for Fort McHenry quarters
• November 4 for Mount Rushmore quarters

2013 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins No Longer Rationed

In related news, the U.S. Mint on Tuesday told its dealers through a memo that it has ended rationing of White Mountain Silver Bullion Coins. When they went on sale earlier this month, the Mint limited how many could be purchased. The latest memo said in part:

The United States Mint is lifting allocations on the 2013 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin — White Mountain National Forest — effective immediately.  The premium remains at $9.75 per coin. The minimum order quantity for the America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coins is 500 ounces/100 coins, with 500 ounces/100 coin ordering increments.

Sales have been strong for the bullion coins. As of today, orders total 25,800. That is more than the final sales totals for each of the coins released last year.
