2013 Proof Silver Eagle Coin Sales Top 600,000

The latest round of United States Mint figures revealed another sales milestone for collectible American Silver Eagles and offered debut sales of 2013 Girl Scouts of the USA Young Collectors Sets.

2013-W Proof Silver Eagles outshined all of the numismatic silver products put together. New orders rang to the tune of 10,347. With that surge, sales catapulted beyond the 600,000 mark to wind up at a total of 609,718. The annual top selling silver coin has been available since January 24, 2013. As a reference point, 2012-W Proof Silver Eagles sold out at 819,217 on November 13, 2012. They went on sale April 12, 2012.

Sales began Friday, July 19, for the 2013 Girl Scouts Young Collectors Set. By Sunday, July 21, orders reached 1,474. An uncirculated silver dollar commemorative is featured in the set that is geared toward young girls who are active in Girl Scouts.

Its debut sparked a few more sales for products in the same category, with the individual proof Girl Scouts Silver Dollar climbing by 395 and the individual uncirculated version increasing by 124. In the previous round, the proof gained 216 and the uncirculated added 40. All together, the U.S. Mint has sold 110,101 of the maximum 350,000 Girl Scouts of the USA Silver Dollar commemoratives.

All 2011-dated and 2012-dated America the Beautiful Bullion Silver Coins sold out on March 1, 2013. The United States Mint released the bullion 2013 White Mountain silver coin on May 13, 2013; the 2013 Perry’s Victory silver coin on June 3; and the 2013 Great Basin silver coin on June 24.
