2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Silver Coin Sales Change

There was a shake-up in the latest United States Mint sales stats, and it had nothing to do with the weekly bestseller 2014-W Proof Silver Eagles.
Sales of the curved 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Silver Coins changed for the first time in four months
Instead, totals for both 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Silver Coins that sold out in April suddenly and dramatically changed in this round — by several thousand each.
Proof versions of the curved Baseball silver dollars jumped up by 5,569 to 267,660 while the uncirculated Baseball silver dollars dove by 6,490 down to 131,419. This latest adjustment caused their combined total to move to 399,079 and that is 921 below the authorized mintage limit of 400,000 across all silver options.
Reasons for the adjustment are unknown, but one could speculate that the shift may have been a result of an accounting audit or returns of late orders that began shipping out about two weeks ago.
As for the top seller of the week across all U.S. Mint numismatic options, sales of 2014 Proof Silver Eagles spiked by 12,726 to 653,906. The latest gain became the fourth week in a row that sales outperformed their prior week’s increase.
