2014-P Great Sand Dunes Silver Coins Inaugural Sales

United States Mint silver coin sales numbers are out, and this latest round shows inaugural figures for the 2014-P Great Sand Dunes National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin.

As the fourth new collector America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins to hit the market this year, its 20,047 orders from its launch on September 15 through to September 21 was close to its predecessors. A chart compares the 2014 strikes.

In related news, the investor version Great Sand Dunes bullion silver coin gained an extra 1,200 to reach 11,700. It hit the market a few weeks ago, on August 25, but the US Mint does not sell it directly to the public. Consumers can shop for the bullion version via coin and precious metal dealers.
