2014 Proof Silver Eagles Rack Up Sales

The biggest winner from the latest round of United States Mint sales stats was the 2014-W Proof American Silver Eagle. It once again racked up the most new orders amongst the bureau’s numismatic products.

It was the Silver Eagle’s third full week of availability, and consumers took in 15,279 more coins, which pushed the total sold up to 370,386. They debuted back on January 23, 2014.

Scoring second place in the silver category was the 2014 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set, featuring 90% silver strikes of the Great Smoky Mountains Quarter, Shenandoah Quarter, Arches Quarter, Great Sand Dunes Quarter, and Everglades Quarter. Sales jumped by 3,134 in this round after adding 4,899 in the prior week. As of Sunday, 60,802 of the sets sold since launching on January 21.

Rounding out third place in silver was the 2013 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. Demand for it actually picked up slightly. In this report its total rose by 1,282 versus the 1,223 that buyers scooped up previously. 39,370 is the new total.
