Demand Jumps for 2014 Proof and Uncirculated Silver Eagles

Interest for two silver coins skyrocketed last week. Most favored in the white metal category were proof and uncirculated Silver Eagles. Demand was nearly twice the amount of the previous week per the most recent United States Mint sales stats report.

With a gain of 11,496 in this round, 2014-W Proof Silver Eagles advanced to a new total of 641,180. Sales in the prior week were 6,063. Also surging were 2014-W Uncirculated Silver Eagles. This time sales jumped by 4,526 after 1,166 were picked up previously.

2014 Silver Proof Sets were not far behind the uncirculated Silver Eagles, adding 4,212 to their total. Their climb, however, sagged a little compared to the 4,585 purchased one week earlier. Year-to-date sales for the sets are now sitting at 286,094.
