On Tuesday, June 30, the United States Mint will begin selling the 2015 Harry S. Truman Coin & Chronicles Set with its silver medal, dollar coin, and stamp.

The set may be purchased for $57.95 and it has a product limit of 17,000. It seems poised for a sell-out even with an initial household order limit of five.

Anticipated demand is likely to be high thanks to the inclusion of a 2015 Harry S. Truman Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin. Never before has the U.S. Mint issued a reverse proof Presidential $1 Coin. In addition, the reverse proof will only be released as part of this Chronicles Set.

Reverse proof coins showcase frosty fields and raised mirror-like devices. This is opposite of standard proof coins from the U.S. Mint.

Joining the reverse proof in the release is a one-ounce, .999 fine Harry S. Truman Presidential silver medal. Both the coin and silver medal are produced at the U.S. Mint’s facility in Philadelphia. However, only the coin has the corresponding ‘P’ mintmark.

Rounding out the Truman Chronicles Set is a 1973 U.S. eight cent Harry S. Truman postage stamp and an informative booklet about the 33rd President of the United States. Included items are presented together in a red display folder composed of a soft–touch material.

This set is the first of four scheduled to be released this year. Future issues and their scheduled release dates are:

  • 2015 Dwight D. Eisenhower Coin & Chronicles Set – August 11, 2015
  • 2015 John F. Kennedy Coin & Chronicles Set – September 15, 2015
  • 2015 Lyndon B. Johnson Coin & Chronicles Set – October 2015

All four 2015 issues will include a special reverse proof coin honoring the former President, as well as a Presidential silver medal.
