Last Chance at 2015 Silver Eagles and Commemorative Coins

Less than 24 hours remain to buy American Silver Eagles from the United States Mint. The agency will stop selling the silver coins and all products with them at noon ET on Dec. 30, 2015. Dates of issues range from 2013 to 2015. In addition, going off sale at the same time are all 2015 commemorative coins.

Sales of American Silver Eagles are ending, according to the U.S. Mint, because of a change in law that requires all collector editions in 2016 to have smooth edges with lettering denoting the 30th anniversary of the first issue. Silver Eagles have had reeded edges since their introduction in 1986.

American Silver Eagle products going off sale include:

• 2015-W Proof American Silver Eagle
• 2015-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle
• 2013, 2014 and 2015 Congratulations Sets
• 2014 and 2015 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets
• 2014 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set

As for 2015 commemorative coins, the two laws authorizing them state that they cannot be issued beyond this year. Products with the coins include:
