US Mint Sales: 2013 Silver Eagle Proof Coins Top Silver Product

Marking the first full week of sales for 2013-W American Silver Eagle Proof Coins, U.S Mint data showed 21,592 new purchases. Hands down, the collector strikes monopolized the silver coin category.

Collectors purchase 21,592 more 2013 Silver Eagle Proof Coins during the first full week of sales

With these latest orders, the U.S. Mint reports 280,452 Silver Eagle Proof Coins have been claimed since their release on January 28, 2013. The series has been around since 1986 and has always been a big seller. This year’s strikes go for $62.95 each.

No other silver product experienced equal demand. The next most popular silver product, which was a little less pricey at $41.95 a piece, were 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Sets. They consist of five 90% silver coins and the 2013 versions have been around since January 8. Their latest jump was 2,330, bringing their total up to 64,532.

Hanging on to third place were 2012-W American Silver Eagle Uncirculated Coins. They advanced by 1,733 to reach 192,202. At this time, their price is $50.95 each.

The United States Mint updated the America the Beautiful Bullion Silver Coins on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. The Vicksburg, El Yunque, and Chaco coins increased this week. Their totals climbed by 2,300, 400, and 1,000 respectively, but the Chickasaw coin total fell by 2,300. No 2013-dated coins have been released.
