US Mint silver coin salesU.S. Mint 2010 commemorative sales continue to slow as the newness of their releases fade further each week and as most collectors who wanted them have already made their purchases.

2010 Boy Scouts Silver Dollars have hit 83.0% of their maximum mintage. 290,392 of the available 350,000 are gone. However, the new weekly sales are less than half of the total attained from the prior week — 23,875 compared to 51,844.

While it appears almost certain that the BSA silver coins will sell out, it is looking like they will extend their stay into May. If the current sales pace was maintained, it would take nearly 2.5 weeks for the remaining 59.6K to be depleted.

2010 Disabled American Veterans (DAV) coins are at 54.7% of their allotted 350,000 mintage. 191,489 is their newest total after adding in the latest weekly gain of 3,427.

In non commemorative sales, interest in the Mint’s 2009-dated silver products picked up a touch. The 2009 US Mint Silver Proof Set weekly increase was 1,376 versus 1,302. The 2009 Quarters Silver Proof Set advanced 651 over 568.

The United States Mint has not reported any additional American Silver Eagle bullion coins sales since April 9, when they hit 438,500 for the month.
