US Army silver commemorative coins spiked as did American Silver Eagles in the latest round of US Mint sales. Still missing in the numbers, however, was the new 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set™.
Proof US Army silver dollars surpassed their previous week’s dip better than the uncirculated US Army silver dollars. The US Mint reported that 1,288 proofs and 433 uncirculated Army commemorative coins were sold to collectors compared to 760 and 268 in the last round. Read More…
2010 America the Beautiful 5 Oz Silver Uncirculated Coin Prices

The United States Mint on Tuesday announced prices for the collector 2010 America the Beautiful 5 Oz Silver Uncirculated Coin, saying it will charge $279.95.

The US Mint was clear to indicate that "pricing is subject to change" for all "products sold by the United States Mint containing precious metals." That suggests the coins will see their prices adjusted if silver prices rise or fall significantly. Read More…

The sale of two US Mint silver proof sets was suspended as silver prices on Friday reached a more than three-decade high and toppled the $40 an ounce milestone.

Collectors and investors will soon be able to obtain the first and second 2011 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins, according to a memorandum issued today by the United States Mint.

American Silver Eagles got off to a nice start in April, but demand for numismatic silver products weakened again, despite a new set’s launch. Just one item managed to exceed its prior week’s increase.
United States Mint’s Authorized Purchasers bought another 658,500 bullion Silver Eagles in the last few days, but that number was less than the 697,500 that were picked up at the end of March. The addition, however, tipped the 2011 annual sales number beyond 13 million to make the total equal 13,087,500 in the first 96 days of the year. Read More…
2011 Silver Eagles Post Third Best March Sales in Bullion Coin Series

The 2011 American Silver Eagle bullion coin managed to land the third spot among the highest March totals over the last 25 years, according to United States Mint sales figures. Last month, US Mint Authorized Purchasers bought 2,767,000 Silver Eagles, which lagged behind March 2009 at 3,132,000 and March 2010 with 3,381,000.
The .999 fine silver bullion coin has gotten off to a fast start, even though March’s final number retreated from this year’s January and February’s levels. Catching January’s all-time monthly record of 6,422,000 would have been a major feat, but March only followed the best-ever February by 473,000 coins. Read More…
Hot Springs 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin Release Date

The United Mint has scheduled the release date for the collector Hot Springs 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin, the debuting issue from the numismatic America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins series.
The newly updated US Mint 2011 product schedule has the Hot Springs coin set to launch on April 28, 2011.
The US Mint has yet to publish a price, but given silver just hit a fresh 31-year high on Monday of over $38.50 an ounce and the uncirculated coin contains 5 ounces of the precious metal, buyers should expect a minimum range of between $200-$250. Read More…
