The market for bullion American Silver Eagles remains hot in March, but United States Mint numismatic silver products slowed for another week. One item did out-do its prior performance.
Silver Eagles have been getting closer to the 3 million marker for March, but they have not crossed it yet. 2,767,000 have sold to US Mint Authorized Purchasers this month. As a comparison, nearly 3.4 million sold in March 2010 and more than 3.1 million sold in March 2009. Read More…

Two United States Mint Authorized Purchasers (AP’s) have started selling their inventory of 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins at a price that is near the cost of the five ounces of silver within each piece.
Jack Hunt Coin Broker (JHCB) is offering a set of five for $949.00 ($860.20 plus $88.20 for shipping) and Manfra, Tordella & Brookes (MTB) is reselling them for $1,025.00, which includes shipping. Read More…
2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative Coins Prices Set for Increase

Introductory prices on the 2011 Medal of Honor Silver Dollars and the 2011 Medal of Honor $5 Gold Coins are set to end early next week, leaving buyers a few short days to purchase them at reduced prices. Effective on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 5:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), the cost of each of the commemorative coins will increase by $5 as they move to their regular price points.

This US Mint brochure describes the 2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin Program and denotes the introductory and regular prices points for the silver dollars and $5 gold pieces.

US Mint Sales: 2011 Silver Proof Set Surges

Except for the 2011 Silver Proof Set, US Mint silver product demand waned for a second straight week. This year’s commemorative silver dollars and bullion American Silver Eagle sales could not outshine their prior week’s increase.
The investment grade Silver Eagles added 652,500 to their total, compared to 748,500 previously. Their month-to-date number clocked in at 2,069,500, which is quite a distance from March 2010’s figure of 3,381,000. In the meantime, 2011 annual sales rose to 11,731,500. Read More…
Prices Raised for US Mint Silver Proof Sets

The United States Mint on Friday raised the prices on three of its silver proof set products, two that have already been issued and one that is scheduled for release later this month.

This US Mint set is one of three to have their prices adjusted higher due to the cost of silver
The adjustments follow a US Mint review of coin prices precipitated by the rising cost of silver. New York silver prices soared nearly 84 percent in 2010. The metal is more than 13 percent higher in 2011, or more than double what it was one year ago, despite recent retreats from 31-year highs. Read More…
US Mint Sales: 2011 Commemorative Silver Dollars Weaken

Collector demand abated for US Mint silver products, including the new 2011 commemorative silver dollars. Bullion American Silver Eagle coins, on the other hand, gained and have topped 11 million in annual sales.
Silver Eagles climbed by 748,500. As a comparison, US Mint Authorized Purchasers scooped up 668,500 during the previous week. The total for March has now moved up to 1,417,000. Year-to-date sales remarkably arrived at 11,079,000. Read More…
