The 2013 $20 Silver Hockey Commemorative Coin is available now from the Royal Canadian Mint. It appears as the first 2013-dated strike of the RCM’s extremely popular "Exchange $20 for $20" series under which a $20 face value silver coin may be purchased for $20.

Shown on the reverse of the commemorative coin is a design celebrating Canada’s national winter sport, hockey. Like earlier releases, each coin is in 99.99% fine silver with a weight of 7.96 grams.

If one considers those prior silver coins, it is extremely likely that this latest issue will sell out. All previous silver coins under the series have achieved that sell-out status with inventories of some of them depleted in days.

The table below shows the silver coins of the Exchange $20 for $20 program along with their original release dates and mintage caps.

Description Mintage Release
2011 $20 Maple Leaf Commemorative Coin 200,000 February 2011
2011 $20 Canoe Commemorative Coin 250,000 October 2011
2012 $20 Polar Bear Commemorative Coin 250,000 February 2012
