Silver Coin Calculator Measures Melt Value of Circulating Coins
October 17, 2008 by Silver Coins Today Staff · 1 Comment
The latest addition to Silver Coins Today includes a new US Silver Coin Calculator that measures the silver content or melt value of a dozen circulating silver coins issued in the United States.
The silver calculator is unique in that it enables buyers, sellers or anyone simply curious to check a coin's value by entering the quantity of coins, and tally results -- if so desired -- across multiple coins.
The coin tool also has an adjustable silver spot price that is useful for speculating on price changes. Plus, an adjustable bid/ask percentage spread for those who are interesting in selling or purchasing silver coins at various buying and selling rates.
The Silver Coin Calculator displays the total silver weight of all coins in troy ounces and grams.
The following more modern US circulating coins have silver content and are included in the calculator:

An important fact to remember about the calculator is it measures a coin or coins silver value content, not its numismatic value. Rare or better conditioned coins will always exceed their silver melt value.
