Canadian $20 Silver Royal Wedding Coin Nears Sell Out

The Royal Canadian Mint on Wednesday warned in an email notice to customers that its Canadian $20 Silver Royal Wedding Coin was approaching a sell out.
The Royal Wedding Coin, struck from 99.99% pure silver, has a worldwide mintage of 25,000. The Mint indicated 84% had already been sold since its release on April 6.

US Mint Foresees Hot Springs Five Ounce Silver Coin Ordering Problems

In preparation for the launch of the 2010-P Hot Springs National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin on Thursday, April 28, at 12:00 noon Eastern Time, the United States Mint has issued a statement regarding possible ordering problems due to expected high demand.

Hot Springs Five Ounce Silver Coin
"Because of the anticipated demand for the coins, we expect that our online ordering management system will be much slower than usual," states the US Mint. "As we have previously indicated to our customers, our online ordering management system is in need of upgrade. Fixing the system is a priority. Unfortunately, we do not anticipate an upgraded system being in place until approximately mid-2012. In the meantime, we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience and ask them to be patient during this time."
US Mint Sales: 5 Oz Silver Bullion Coins, Silver Quarters Sets Appear

The United States Mint added a few more products to their weekly sales report. Official sales numbers for the 2011 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins and the 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set were proclaimed.
In just one day, US Mint Authorized Purchasers ordered a total of 153,400 of the Gettysburg and Glacier National Park silver bullion coins, which leaves 99,600 available. The Mint released the silver coins on Monday, April 25. The US Mint decided to produce 253,000 or 126,500 of each design. It will be interesting to see if they are sold out by the time next week’s sales are reported. Read More…

The United States Mint on Monday began accepting orders from its network of Authorized Purchasers for the 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin and the 2011 Glacier National Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin, as previously announced on SilverCoinsToday.com.
The three inch diameter, .999 fine silver coins honor the military park located in the state of Pennsylvania and the national park located in the state of Montana. Reverse designs featured on the coins are emblematic of each location. Read More…

Silver coins have been under a microscope of sorts lately, as their values continue to soar to astonishing levels.
A person does not have to be a collector or an investor to know that the silver market has experienced tremendous gains. Even the mainstream media has captured the picture of silver prices surging almost daily to fresh 31-year highs and striving for an all-time record atop $50 an ounce.
As silver topped $46 an ounce on Thursday, not so terribly old U.S. coins that were once worth nickels, dimes and four bits now have coin melt values ranging from several to well more than a dozen dollars. Read More…
US Mint Sales: Three of Four Silver Commemorative Coins Outperform

Three out of four silver commemorative coins outperformed their prior week’s gains, and bullion American Silver Eagles rallied higher as well per the most recent US Mint sales figures. The numbers for the recently issued 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set™ remain unavailable.
The proof Medal of Honor silver dollar led with 1,966 and the proof US Army silver dollar followed with 1,359. Previously, the silver commemorative coins gained 1,840 and 1,288, respectively. Read More…
US Mint Silver Proof Set Suspensions Rise to Four

The United States Mint on Monday added two more silver sets to its suspension list, bringing the total to four. It was just over a week ago when the bureau first halted two silver sets as silver prices raced to a new 31-year high of over $40 an ounce.

The 2011 America the Beautiful Silver Quarters Proof Set is one of four sets that the US Mint has suspended due to higher silver prices.
Prices have continued to climb since then, with silver reaching as high as $43.51 an ounce in overnight markets. The fast paced increase of the precious metal has made it exceedingly difficult for the US Mint to set new prices for the first two products suspended, and resulted in the addition of the other two.
