US Mint silver coin sales2010 Boy Scouts of America Silver Dollars showed continued strength in the latest U.S. Mint sales report, dipping just slightly from the previous weekly increase while breaking away from halving falls.

BSA coins reached 312,653, or 89.3% of their total allotted sales of 350,000. Weekly sales were at 22,261, marking a decline of only 1,614 from their prior advance and showing signs of a stabilizing level. Read More…

Silver Prices Fall Below $18/oz, Plunging with Other Commodities

Weekly Silver UpdateSilver prices skidded to a halt, breaking a two-week winning streak in New York.

U.S. silver futures tumbled along with other commodities on Friday as Goldman Sachs Group Inc. was charged with fraud by U.S. regulators.

New York silver futures for May delivery were set to end with a positive week, and then plunged 75.8 cents after the aforementioned news broke. The metal closed to $17.675 an ounce, falling 68 cents, or 3.7% for the week. Read More…

The United States Mint has released images of the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters. Numismatic silver versions of these same coins will be in two U.S. Mint silver products this year — the 2010 US Mint Silver Proof Set and the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set.

US Mint silver coin salesU.S. Mint 2010 commemorative sales continue to slow as the newness of their releases fade further each week and as most collectors who wanted them have already made their purchases.

2010 Boy Scouts Silver Dollars have hit 83.0% of their maximum mintage. 290,392 of the available 350,000 are gone. However, the new weekly sales are less than half of the total attained from the prior week — 23,875 compared to 51,844. Read More…

Weekly Silver UpdateSilver prices surged for a second week and above $18 an ounce in New York on Monday while the London markets were closed for an extended Easter weekend.

Prices retreated below the mark on Tuesday and then recovered again on Wednesday to rise on industrial demand expectations and in spite of a stronger U.S. dollar. The metal then cooled somewhat before marching forward on Friday to finish above $18 an ounce in both New York and London, marking respective weekly gains of 2.6% and 3.7%. Read More…
