Still available from the Royal Canadian Mint is a subscription for three unique 2014 $20 Bald Eagle Silver Coins. The subscription was initially released earlier in May but was unavailable to online ordering for much of the month.

United States Mint silver coin sales were higher in this latest round than they have been in a long time. Almost all silver products outperformed their prior weekly sales, and the 2014 Shenandoah National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin helped sparked some of that with its debut.

A new annual report released from the Silver Institute confirms that 2013 was a record year for the demand of physical silver around the globe. The World Silver Survey 2014, published Wednesday, May 14, 2014, indicates that demand for silver rose 13% to an all-time high.

New United States Mint sales stats show that 2014 Silver Proof Sets and 2014 Proof Silver Eagles moved faster than other numismatic silver products. High demand for the sets and Silver Eagles is explainable, since the sets are still a new item for collectors, having only been on the market since April 29, and the Eagles are traditionally top-selling pieces.

2014 Silver Coins Celebrate Canada’s First Royal Visit

This month the Royal Canadian Mint introduced gold and silver coins in remembrance of the 75th anniversary the first Royal visit to Canada. The event commenced on May 17, 1939 when Britain’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth began a historic 29-day visit across the country.
