Design Competition Begins for Baseball Commemorative Coins

A national design competition is underway that will decide the obverse design for 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins.

Two of the three Baseball Commemorative Coins sport a curve shape that has never before been used on U.S. coinage. As depicted in the image above, the obverse that will feature the winning design is concave while the reverse with the baseball style design is convex.
