Football, Baseball and March of Dimes Commemorative Coins

Coin legislation has evidently been a topic on the minds of many in Washington. Since the start of August, one commemorative coin bill was signed into law by the President while two passed in the House.

The newest bill to become law requires the United States Mint to strike National Baseball Hall of Fame commemorative coins in 2014. If the two bills that recently passed the House become law, those baseball coins will be followed in 2015 by March of Dimes commemorative coins and then by Pro Football Hall of Fame commemorative coins in 2016. 2012 Australian Outback Silver Coin Collection Released

Appearing from the Perth Mint of Australia is the 2012 Australian Outback Silver Coin Collection which features three coins with designs emblematic of the iconic creatures of the country.

2012-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle Inaugural Coin Sales

Coin sales from the United States Mint revealed that opening demand was not as strong for the 2012-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle as it was last September for the 2011-dated issue.

The U.S. Mint reported 123,801 of the new Silver Eagles were purchased between launching on Thursday, August 2, and Monday, August 6. Last year’s initial five-day sales, however, hit 184,967. Read More…

Silver Coin Celebrates 40 Years of China and Australia Friendship

The Perth Mint of Australia is celebrating four decades of a flourishing relationship between two countries with the release of a new silver coin. The 2012 China and Australia 40 Years of Friendship Silver Coin is available now from the Perth and honors the relationship with a reverse design depicting two creatures from the affiliated countries.

2012 Australian Map Shaped Emu Silver Coin Available

Appearing as the second release from one of the Perth Mint’s most unique coin series is the 2012 Australian Map Shaped Emu Silver Coin. As indicated by the name, each is actually struck in the shape of the Australian continent.
