Sales of 2012-W Proof Silver Eagle coins topped 500,000
Silver Eagle coins dominated collector and investors’ minds, according to the latest U.S. Mint sales data. Behind Eagles were newly released 2012 Acadia National Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins that seemed to fly off Mint shelves compared to the prior release in the series.
Bullion Silver Eagle coins confirmed their most popular status after 810,000 were scooped up by U.S. Mint Authorized Purchasers (AP’s) in the final days of July. Bogged down by a couple of slow earlier weeks, July sales came to 2,278,000 and placed fourth best in the year. Read More…

2012 Acadia 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin
Another extra large, five ounce, investment-grade silver coin is now available. The United States Mint started offering the 2012 Acadia National Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin to its network of Authorized Purchasers.
Initial sales reveal 9,900 have been ordered according to data from the U.S. Mint released on Monday, July 30, 2012. That number is sharply higher than the coin’s predecessor, featuring Chaco Culture National Historical Park 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin, which had a total of 7,400 by Monday and started with sales of 3,200 back on June 25, 2012. Silver Prices Rise 1.1% in July, Snapping 4-Month Losing Streak

U.S. silver prices advanced in July, snapping a four-month losing streak. The white metal tracked gold for most of the month, which tended to move opposite of the greenback and rise on investors’ hopes of more stimulus measures in the U.S. and Europe.
In closing Tuesday, silver prices for September delivery dipped 11.9 cents, or 0.4%, to $27.91 an ounce on the Comex in New York. Read More…
Senate Passes Lions Clubs International Commemorative Coin Act

On Thursday, July 26, 2012, the U.S. Senate passed the Lions Clubs International Century of Service Commemorative Coin Act. In order to become law, however, it needs to pass in the House of Representatives and get signed by the President.
If this bill, numbered S.1299, becomes law, commemorative silver dollars would be created in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Lions Clubs International (LCI), the world’s largest service organization. The United States Mint would begin offering the coins for up to one calendar year beginning January 1, 2017. Read More…

Three upcoming U.S. Mint coin products, including this Coin & Currency Set, will include Silver Eagles
In addition to 2012 Bullion Silver Eagles, 2012-W Proof Silver Eagles from West Point and 2012-S American Silver Eagle Two Coin Proof Sets from San Francisco, the United States Mint has planned to launch three more coin products containing Silver Eagles.
They will be the collector uncirculated Silver Eagle, the Making American History Coin & Currency Set, and the Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set.

A new series of coins makes its debut from the Perth Mint of Australia with the release of theĀ 2012 Bush Baby Kookaburra Silver Coin. This one-half ounce, .999 fine proof strike is the first of five to be released by the Perth Mint as part of the new Australian Bush Babies II silver coin series.
Showcased on the reverse of the silver coin is a colored design featuring a baby kookaburra bird. Mintage for the strike is limited to 10,000. Read More…
