The Perth Mint of Australia has issued a new 2012 Australian Koala Silver Coin struck from 1/10 ounce of the precious metal with a face value of 10 cents.
Shown on the reverse is an original image of a koala seen on all 2012-dated coins from the series.
Each is composed of 99.9% pure silver. Priced at $14.95, the Perth Mint indicates that the new release will be produced on a "mint-to-order" basis. Read More…

As expected, United States Mint weekly sales revealed robust debuting figures for the 2012-W American Silver Eagle proof coin. This year’s most popular numismatic silver issue launched on Thursday, April 12. By Monday, April 16, collectors purchased 299,539 of them.
A few things changed between this year’s release and previous ones, the first being there were no household ordering limits this time to hinder sales. A second is the time of year. Canadian 2012 Maple Leaf Forever Silver Coins Released

Extending a program that debuted last year, the Royal Canadian Mint has released two new silver coins as part of the Maple Leaf Forever Coin series. Like the previous strikes, the 2012 Maple Leaf Forever Silver Coins are available in two different sizes — a one kilo $250 coin and a 1/2 ounce $10 coin.

One of the United States Mint’s most popular annual numismatic products is now available. The 2012-W American Silver Eagle proof coin was released for sale beginning at Noon (Eastern) today, April 12, 2012.
The American Silver Eagle has an initial price listed of $59.95, plus the U.S. Mint’s standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order. No household order limit is in place for the proof coin and the maximum mintage will be determined by customer demand, according to the Mint. Read More…
Star-Spangled Banner Silver Dollars, Familiar US Coin Sales Leader

It was no surprise that the Star-Spangled Banner silver dollars continued to lead silver products in the latest weekly results of the United States Mint sales figures. Others with high sales included the Uncirculated Silver Eagle, the America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set and the Proof Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar.
Although the proof and uncirculated Star-Spangled Banner silver dollars were the two most popular with gains of 4,834 and 1,853 respectively, both were down compared to the prior week when they increased by 7,476 and 2,076. The patriotic coins have been available since March 5 and recently underwent a price increase of $5 on April 5, which could account a little for the drop in demand. Read More…
