2015 Silver Eagle Coin Weekly Rationing Continues

Supply and demand issues continued for the U.S. Mint’s bullion American Silver Eagle coins as weekly rationing persisted. This time the sales limit was set to 1,000,000 and it was reached.
2015 American Eagle silver bullion coins should hit an all-time record next week
It was the third week in a row that all of the rationed amount was taken. Therefore, November’s total reached 4,087,000 by Friday and year-to-date sales hit 43,929,500. Only 76,501 more coins are needed to be produced and purchased in order to beat last year’s annual sales record of 44,006,000 coins.
On Tuesday the U.S. Mint announced that it will end 2015-dated Silver Eagle production the week of Dec. 7 and begin 2016-dated Silver Eagles sales on Jan. 11.
On the numismatic side, 2015 Silver Proof Sets surged by 7,678 in the latest sales report and surpassed the 300,000 milestone. Their new total came to 306,013. The 2015-W Proof Silver Eagles were the second-best weekly sellers with a jump of 5,794. To date the public has ordered 648,882 of the one ounce collectible.
