Individual 2014-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle Sold out

Demand for U.S. Mint products surged in the latest round of numismatic stats. Much of it could be attributed to gift buying — supported by a new Mint mailer, and the year-end "last chance" reminders for 2014-dated coins.

Among silver options, all but one collector product’s weekly sales exceeded its prior week’s increase, and that was the 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Silver Coin Collection. Buyers scooped up 5,821 sets from December 1 to 7 compared to the 6,343 ordered one week earlier. Current sales are at 178,455, which is 79.3% of the maximum 225,000.

The 2014 Silver Proof Set gained the most in the white metal category. Sales jumped by 12,580 this time after adding 7,444 previously. With the latest addition, the Mint has sold a total of 374,206.

2014-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle Sells Out

2014 American Silver Eagles were next on collectors’ lists, taking the second and third top spots. The total for the proof version rose by 7,066 to hit 725,284, and the uncirculated’s sales-to-date climbed by 6,527 to sit at 225,341. In the prior round, they advanced by 4,319 and 2,929 respectively. Of note, the individual uncirculated Silver Eagle is now sold out, although it remains available as one of the coins within the Mint’s 2014 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set for $44.95.

Bullion Silver Eagles hit a new milestone Monday, December 8 when its sales surpassed last year’s total, setting a new annual record. Despite recent ordering limits, sales hit 42,864,000 to beat the old record of 42,675,000, and they are still growing. The latest number to-date is 43,051,000.
