The American Eagle Palladium Bullion Coin Act of 2010 was signed into law by the President on December 14.

President Barack Obama signed a new bill into law on Tuesday, December 14, that deals with coin modernization research, specification changes to America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins and guarantees the yearly production of collector American Silver Eagles.
The Coin Modernization, Oversight, and Continuity Act of 2010 was introduced into the House of Representatives (H.R. 6162) by Congressman Melvin Watt of North Carolina on September 22, 2010. US Mint Sales: Silver Coin Products in Demand

The United States Mint welcomed a newcomer to their America the Beautiful product portfolio. The five ounce 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins began with debut sales of 75,000 from Authorized Purchasers. That is 375,000 ounces of silver in a single day on their launch Friday.
As for the other US Mint bullion product, demand for Silver Eagle bullion coins picked up compared to the first week of December. The United States Mint today released the debuting sales for the five ounce America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins.
After a delay from their originally scheduled launch, the US Mint conditionally released the bullion coins on Friday, December 10, 2010. US Mint Authorized Purchasers (AP’s) or resellers ordered 75,000 of the available 165,000 on that day, leaving 90,000 remaining. Read More…

Ending a four day moratorium on the initial release of the 2010 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins, the United States Mint on Thursday said they would be available for ordering beginning today, December 10, 2010.
The US Mint had planned on offering the .999 fine silver coins to its network of authorized purchasers on Monday, December 6. However, those plans were put on hold when the US Mint started receiving multiple inquiries regarding the availability of the coins, their limited mintage and the apparent excessive premiums being charged for them. The latest US Mint sales figures reflect collector activity over the last two weeks. The biggest movers, by far, were the Proof Silver Eagle coins and bullion Silver Eagles.
The 2010 Proof Silver Eagle rocked the house since its debut. Collectors bought another 434,492 in two weeks and pushed their total sales to an incredible 707,704. That’s 6,725 more than the total minted for all of the 2008 Proof Silver Eagle coins. Read More…
