US Mint Sales: 2016 Silver Proof Set Hits 300,000

Not much changed in the most recent U.S. Mint’s weekly sales stats since there has been no new product to debut. The individually packaged 2016-W Proof Silver Eagles notched the top spot in the silver category by advancing with 5,091 orders. This increase put their total sold at 440,938.

Close behind and earning a headline was the 2016 Silver Proof Set. Its overall sales total crept over the 300,000 milestone as consumers scooped up 4,991 in this round. The new total reached 302,215. Its pace is closely following that of the 2015 Silver Proof Set during its first six months of sales. The U.S. Mint continues to sell it, and it rose a modest 275 to 381,704.

It has been three full weeks since the 2016 Ronald Reagan Coin & Chronicles Set launched and the latest sales show the set adding another 2,165. So far, 34,372 have sold.

The table below shows the latest sales stats for collector coins and related silver products from the U.S. Mint. Sunday, November 6, is the as of date for the standard collectibles and Friday, November 11, is the as of date for the bullion products.
