Weekly Sales Frontrunner is 2016 Silver Proof Set

Leading numismatic silver products for a second straight time in the United States Mint’s weekly sales stats was the 2016 Silver Proof Set. Collectors ordered 6,167 of them, just one week after buying 13,176. With this recent jump, the set’s overall sales climbed to 207,002.

On the bullion side, sales are unchanged so far for the newly released 2016 Harpers Ferry 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. They hit the market on Monday, but their total remains the same as their first-day number, which was 33,000.

Bullion 2016 American Silver Eagles have moved up by 833,500 coins in the first few days of June following their best ever May at nearly 4.5 million coins. Their limit this week is 1,415,500 coins, with 53.9% of those claimed through Wednesday. To date, the U.S. Mint’s network of authorized purchasers has scooped up 24,246,500, which is a 35.3% increase over the same time frame last year.
