The Royal Canadian Mint offers a fun winter-themed release from its "Exchange $20 for $20" program with the 2014 $20 Snowman Silver Coin. Eighty-one percent have already sold.
On reverses is a jovial scene of a smiling snowman throwing a snowball. The issue appears as the fourth coin this year from the program and the fourteenth overall.
As highlighted by the series name, each coin is or was sold at its legal tender face value of $20. The affordable nature of the program; the fact that the coins are sold at face value; the composition of .9999 fine silver; and the varied reverse designs all contribute to the popularity of the series. And all but the immediate prior release, the Summertime silver coin, have sold out. It’s at 95% of sales as of this writing.
A list of the coins in the series is below along with their mintage and month of release. A "*" indicates that the coin has sold out.
