Blue Ridge Parkway Coin Gone for Now; 2015 Annual $1 Coin Sets Debut

Two new United States Mint silver products garnered the most attention these past few days. First, the 2015 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets launched on Tuesday, June 16, followed by the 2015 Blue Ridge Parkway America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coin hitting the market on Monday, June 22.

Sales-wise, the bullion coin led. Orders of 2015 Blue Ridge Parkway silver coin reached 35,000 on the same day they launched, and no more could move as the Mint’s inventory ran out. The temporary sell out will not last long, however, because the Mint intends to make more. The prior release in the series, celebrating Kisatchie National Forest, experienced high demand when it launched in April, and the Mint was able to produce and sell 42,000 of them — the most since the 2011 Chickasaw coin.

2015 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets reached 11,592 in its debut on the Mint’s weekly sales chart. The price tag is $46.95 for the six coin set, which consists of one  2015-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle, four 2015-P Presidential $1 Coins, and a 2015-D Native American $1 Coin.
