Each of this year’s prior two sets — with their stamp, silver medal, and unique $1 coin — sold out in just minutes of their release. They had product limits of 17,000 each. The JFK Coin & Chronicles Set should last longer, having a higher limit of 50,000 and a household ordering limit of 2.

Coin & Chronicles Sets are commanding a ton of attention because of their reverse proof $1 coin. Exclusive to each set, this latest one marks only the third ever issued in the dollar series. Reverse proofs feature frosty fields and raised mirror-like devices — exactly opposite of the finish on standard United States Mint proof coins.

Along with the reverse proof is a John F. Kennedy medal in one ounce of .999 fine silver. The U.S. Mint at Philadelphia makes the reverse proof dollar and the silver medal but just the coin has the corresponding ‘P’ mintmark.

Rounding out the Chronicles Set is a 1964 U.S. 5-cent JFK postage stamp and an informative booklet about the 35th President of the United States. All the collectible items are presented inside in a brown display folder that is composed of a soft-touch material.

This set is the third of four for this year. Other issues and their release dates include:

  • 2015 Harry S. Truman Coin & Chronicles Set – Released on June 3, 2015
  • 2015 Dwight D. Eisenhower Coin & Chronicles Set – Released on August 11, 2015
  • 2015 Lyndon B. Johnson Coin & Chronicles Set – October 27, 2015

ebay seller 1abfer was able to sell for $185 each of four individual JFK Coin & Chronicles Sets pre-sales as item #291546710354 sold on August 23 & 25, 2015. Their U.S. Mint issue price was $57.95 each. That means $185/$57.95 = 3.19X, i.e., an Instant 219% Windfall Profit for each set.
