The United States Mint has updated is release schedule for numismatic products and the America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set is now set to launch on May 27, 2010.

The United States Mint in late March unveiled the final designs to be featured on the 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins, the new series the U.S. Mint has entitled the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program.

Silver Weekly Prices Surge 5.8% in N.Y. and 5.0% in London, Soars in March

Weekly silver prices soared toward the end of March and the beginning of April after falling the prior week. The metal jumped 5.8% in N.Y. and 5.0% in London.
The London silver fix ahead of long Easter weekend ended at $17.69 an ounce, marking a weekly gain of 84 cents. For March, silver soared 8.6% but managed a weaker 3.0% increase during the first quarter. Read More…
US Mint Sales: Collector Silver Products Rally, American Silver Eagles Explode

The latest round of United States Mint weekly sales figures are in and they show collectors focused on the newly released 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars. The coins are sprinting out Mint doors, as are bullion American Silver Eagles.
The Boy Scouts coins were launched on Tuesday, March 23. By Saturday morning, March 27, an impressive 200,000 were sold. By Sunday, the total reached 214,673. With a 350,000 mintage limit, these coins look like they will sell out. Split across the two options, collectors have purchased 144,732 of the proof silver coins and 69,941 of the uncirculated silver coins. Read More…
2010 Boy Scouts of America Silver Dollar Coins Launched, Sales Hit 200,000

United States Mint Director Ed Moy confirmed the suspicions of many collectors on Saturday about the brisk sales of the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars.
"The coin program has already been a great success," said Director Moy at the American Numismatic Association’s National Money Show™ in Fort Worth, Texas. "It went on sale this past Tuesday, March 23rd, and as of this morning, out of 350,000 that were available to sell, 200,000 have been sold."
Most familiar with the commemoratives already suspected that sales of the coin were quite good. In fact, many had been predicting it for months. And with the ordering issues experienced during the initial hours of its release day on March 23rd, everyone’s expectations seemed confirmed. Read More…
Silver Prices Fall in Fourth Week of March

Silver prices fell in both N.Y. and London during the fourth week of March.
New York silver futures for May delivery closed on Friday at $16.906 an ounce, falling 13 cents, or 0.7%, during the week. By comparison, the first, second and third weeks of this month registered gains / losses of +86 cents, -33.4 cents, and -2 cents. The metal is 2.3% higher in March. Read More…
US Mint Silver Product Sales Slow, Eagles Idle

The latest round of United States Mint weekly sales figures show demand has decline for all silver coins and sets.
Given that silver prices were mostly unchanged last week and have fallen this week, it’s not too surprising that sales of bullion American Silver Eagles would slow. However, the numbers go below slow. The US Mint has not reported a single new eagle sale since March 15, 2010. That is surprising.
