2011 Proof Silver Eagle

2011 Proof Silver Eagle

Although weekly sales increases for collectible silver products were mixed in the latest figures released by the United States Mint, one product clearly shined above the rest, the 2011 Proof Silver Eagle. Collectors scooped up 17,701 in one week and not even the combined sales of the 2011 Silver Proof Set and the 2011 Uncirculated Silver Eagle came close to the Proof Eagle’s climb.

The Silver Proof Set and the Uncirculated Silver Eagle were the second and third top sellers, adding 6,766 and 4,767 respectively to their totals. Sales for the Proof Silver Eagle were down compared to the previous week, which surged by 22,110, but they were up for the set and uncirculated Eagle, because those previous gains were 4,961 and -12,464.

As for the 2011-P Glacier 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin that recently launched, another 1,031 flew off the Mint’s shelves in the first full week of availability. The Grand Canyon silver coin, on the other hand, experienced its ninth straight week of setbacks, this time by losing another five sales. Its new total hit 26,019.

In bullion news, the bullion Silver Eagle took flight again. The U.S. Mint’s network of Authorized Purchasers ordered 541,000 in one week, sending the Eagle’s annual sales over a new milestone to 37,041,500.

The following are the latest US Mint product sales figures:
