US Mint Sales: Silver Coins Rebound, Bullion Eagles Gain

US Mint silver coin salesSales picked up for silver coin products, according to the latest round of United States Mint sales figures. Every numismatic item exceeded its prior weekly gains, following two weeks of slower movement.

The 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set jumped by 4,884 compared to 4,695 previously. Last year’s 2009 DC and Territories Quarters Silver Proof Set also bounced up by 726, as compared to the prior climb of 621.

The biggest improvement, however, was the proof 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life silver dollar. They grew 1,034 versus 497. The last time the silver dollars moved at such a pace was back in June. The uncirculated version performed better too, growing by 309 as compared to the previous 219.

As a reminder, the next silver numismatic product to hit the streets will be the 2010 Silver Proof Set. It launches this Thursday, August 26.

In bullion coins, the 2010 American Silver Eagles surged 713,500 in the last seven days to make the month-to-date total 1,656,000. Demand has been lower than previous months this year. For example, by July 24, July’s total was 2,292,000. That’s a difference of 636,000.
