US Mint Silver Coin Sales Stats for December, Week 3

December 18, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

US Mint silver coin sales statsLike clockwork, the Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set and US Mint Silver Proof Set were again the hottest with a 4.63 percent and 3.2 percent increase in sales, according to the latest silver coin sales stats released by the United States Mint.

However, sales have cooled somewhat compared to previous weeks, and that’s not accounting for the no longer available Bald Eagle coins or the American Legacy Collection which the Mint discontinued on Friday, December 12.

Next week’s report will likely be telling — where many of the sales stats can be considered "final."

The pickings are certainly slim now for modern U.S. silver coins. That will be the case until the 2009 offerings become available.
