2013 ATB Quarters Silver Proof Set Sales Up; Coin Suspensions End

While several popular numismatic silver coin products were suspended, sales for the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set sped up, according to the most recent U.S. Mint sales stats. Other silver items on the rise were the proof and uncirculated Girl Scouts Silver Dollars.

Collectors took in 2,505 of the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Sets over the past week, making them most popular product in this silver sales report. That number is more than double the 742 purchased previously. The latest gain pushed the set’s total up to 91,536. January 8 was the set’s start date. Part of the draw for collectors are the 90 percent silver composition of all five of the 2013 quarters.

Commemorative coins also performed very well. 2013-P Proof 5-Star Generals Silver Dollar coins rose by 1,809, but that number was down compared to the 3,888 seen in the prior report. On the other hand, purchases of 2013 Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial Silver Dollars leaped. In this round, 1,728 proof and 371 uncirculated coins were picked up, after 742 and 293 respectively were grabbed a week earlier.

Silver Coin Sales Suspensions End

It should be noted, the U.S. Mint sales suspension of select silver products is now over. Products returning at lower prices are:

• 2013 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin at $57.95 (was $62.95)
• 2012 Chaco Culture Five Ounce Uncirculated Silver Coin at $179.95 (was $229.95)
• 2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set at $49.95 (was $59.95)
