2010 Boy Scouts of America Proof Silver Dollars, as expected but longer than most would have thought given their blistering start, have sold out with customers now being asked by the United States Mint to join a standby or "waiting list" if they are still interested in buying.
The commemorative silver dollars celebrate the centennial founding of the Boy Scouts of America and were launched on March 23, 2010. The most recent U.S. Mint silver coins sales indicate 105,000 of the uncirculated options were sold, leaving the proofs now at or a bit above 245,000. Silver Prices Soar for Second Straight Week

Silver prices surged for a second consecutive week, capping a 10.9% gain in New York and a more modest 5.7% increase in London since June 4.
In weekly increases, the metal was just below the rallying levels of last week.
U.S. silver jumped 5.2% as compared to the 5.4% increase during the prior week. New York silver futures for July delivery ended at $19.184 an ounce, advancing 95.3 cents from last Friday. Its intraday high was $19.275 an ounce. Read More…

As sales for newly released items cooled from their launch, a spike for a few older silver numismatic products occurred. In other silver coins news, American Silver Eagle bullion demand abated slightly, the latest United States Mint sales report showed.

2009 US Mint Silver Proof Set Availability Ends

The United States Mint will end 2009 Silver Proof Set sales on Tuesday, June 15, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
As the U.S. Mint published in May via the addition of a Last Opportunity page on its website, it is "discontinuing online and phone sales of numismatic products with 2009 Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Coins."

Silver Weekly Prices Advance 5.4% in US, 3.1% London

Silver prices rallied during the second week of June to recover most of their losses made during the month’s first week. It was the biggest gainer of the precious metals.
U.S. silver surged 5.4% this week as compared to the 6.1% decline during the prior week. New York silver futures for July delivery ended at $18.231 an ounce, jumping 93.2 cents from last Friday. Its high point for the week was reached on Tuesday at $18.48 an ounce. Read More…

The latest United States Mint sales figures for silver numismatic products showed a slower week compared to the prior report, but demand for silver bullion remained high. The reporting period does include the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, which is certainly one reason for weaker numbers.
2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Sets™ were the best selling collector item. Another 17,618 sold and brought the new total to 91,374.
