Silver Prices for Week Plunge 5.8% in London, 5.2% in New York

Major precious metals prices fell this week as a strengthened U.S. dollar pressured gold and silver lower.
Silver followed a decisive negative path since Monday after peaking the final Friday in June.
New York silver futures for July and the week plummeted 5.2%. The metal ended at $13.393 an ounce, falling 73.5 cents. All U.S. markets were closed Friday for the Independence Day holiday weekend. Read More…

Silver Coin Demand Fluid, US Mint Sales Figures Show

In typical fashion of late, the demand for US silver coins and sets flows differently depending on the week, with both ups and downs.
Of the six silver products sold, the latest US Mint sales figures have four with modest increases and two easing lower.
The down shifters were:
- DC & US Territories Quarters, gaining 6,173 more compared to the prior week’s 6,491
- Uncirculated Braille Silver Dollars in the easy-open capsule, gaining 102 versus the prior 191

Weekly Silver Prices Rise 0.2% in London, Drop 0.5% in New York

Precious metals were mixed this week as large price retreats on Monday were quietly chipped into on succeeding days, ending with solid boosts Friday.
In terms of weekly silver numbers, the metal managed to break a three-week loosing streak in London while falling slightly in New York.
New York silver futures for July gained 12.3 cents on Friday to end at $14.128 an once. In the end, the weekly loss was trimmed to 7.2 cents for a 0.5% decline. Read More…
