US Mint silver coin salesInvestment demand for bullion American Silver Eagles increased during the last seven days, but excitement abated for other American silver products.

According to the latest United States Mint sales statistics, Silver Eagles advanced another 750,000 since last Wednesday — improving to 1,175,000 during the first ten days of this month.

If the current pace continues through the next 21 days, it will turn out to be the best ever March for the silver coins. Year-to-date sales are presently at 6,817,500.

The US Mint is seeing solid interest for Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Silver Dollars, although the level is naturally lower as compared to the commemorative coin’s opening days. Weekly sales of the proof version advanced 24,784 while the uncirculated option climbed 8,692. A total of 131,834 have been purchased since their release on February 25, 2010. 350,000 of the silver coins are authorized.

Finally, collector attention shifted away from the US Mint Silver Proof Set and the 2009 Quarters Silver Proof Set during the latest weekly sales cycle. Each had respective increases of 1,459 and 487. Last week’s report showed gains of 2,687 and 930.
