Blue Ridge Parkway Coin; FDR Set Sell Out

One week ago, on October 30, the U.S. Mint officially announced that the 2015-P Blue Ridge Parkway Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin has sold out.

For some time before then, the coin’s status had been categorized as "unavailable" on the Mint’s website. Its weekly sales numbers still fluctuated. The collectible silver coin launched on July 7, 2015, and the latest sales figures show an increase of 34 to a total of 17,488. (Here are photos of the coin.) It is the first of the Mint’s 2015 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins to sell out. Four of the five have been released. The last one, which features Saratoga National Historical Park in New York, has an on sale date of December 3, 2015.
Also, new to the "unavailable" category, as of Wednesday, is the 2014 Franklin D. Roosevelt Coin & Chronicles Set. It has been available since December 22, 2014. This set has seen larger gains around the time newer sets launch, like when the 2015 Lyndon B. Johnson Coin & Chronicles Set went on sale Tuesday, October 27. The Franklin D. Roosevelt set logged a surge of 750, which bumped its total to 19,045. The set offers FDR featured items to include four stamps, a proof $1 coin, a proof dime, a bronze medal and a one ounce silver medal.
The United States Mint on Monday announced their weekly allotment of bullion American Silver Eagle. The rations have been in place since this summer, after demand exceeded supply in July. This time the bureau is allowing their network of Authorized Purchasers to buy up to 1,187,000 Silver Eagles compared to the 1,043,500 that was allowed a week earlier. Through Wednesday, AP’s ordered 64.3% of the week’s supply.
