Silver snapped a four-week losing streak as the metal soared 6.7 percent in London and 9.6 percent New York. London spot silver ended the week at $12.78 an ounce, reaching a level not seen since a $12.935 high on April 15. The metal jumped 80 cents over last Friday’s fix of $11.98.

Exactly like last week, silver and gold prices fell while palladium and platinum rose. Silver ended under $13 in London and in New York. In spot trading, the London silver fixing ended the week at $12.86 an ounce, falling 36 cents, or 2.7 percent. Silver dropped 43 cents during the previous week.
