US Silver Coin Sales Stats – Apr 16

April 16, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

US Mint silver coin sales statsFor the second consecutive week, the latest United States Mint sales stats show a general decline in collector activity for US silver coins and sets. Recent fluctuating silver prices could have been a deterrent, as collectors may be more willing to standby and first see where it all settles.

Lincoln Silver Dollar sales figures have remained unchanged, following the last series of Mint adjustments when numbers were shifted lower. The maximum amount of individual coins have sold out, which leaves 50,000 proof coins reserved for the special 5-coin set coming later this year.

2009 Braille Bicentennial Silver Dollars have been selling well since their launch on March 26, although the weekly snapshot of new coins sold continues to decline. The most recent figures show 78,818 silver dollars have been purchased, which is an increase of 8,544.

Finally, sales of 2009 DC & US Territories Silver Proof Set have climbed 13,631 over the last report, to a total of 88,932.
