According to the latest updated US Mint 2010 schedule, the highly anticipated release for the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollar will be March 23, 2010.
Up to 350,000 of the Scout coins will be struck to either proof or uncirculated condition from 90% silver and 10% copper. Their release coincides with the celebration of 100 years since the founding of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Read More…

Silver Weekly Prices Advance in London, Decline Slightly in NY

Silver weekly prices calmed following the wild upward rides of the first 2010 trading week. Silver in London did push up 2.2 percent for the week. However, later closing New York silver futures dipped 22.5 cents on Friday to finish with a weekly 0.2 percent loss.
At the end of the day, New York silver futures for March delivery ended at $18.43 an ounce, falling 4 cents on the week.
London silver was fixed at $18.51 an ounce, rising 40 cents for the week. Prices peaked on Monday at $18.84. Wednesday was the low point with a price point of $18.35 an ounce. Read More…
US Mint Silver Coin Sales: Old Uncirculated Set and Eagles Lead

Demand for two of the three numismatic sets currently offered by the United States Mint retreated while bullion Silver Eagles surged, according to the latest US Mint weekly sales data.
It is the end of the 2009-dated eagles. The Mint sold out of their remaining inventory on Tuesday morning. Mint authorized purchasers had ordered 236,500 more since last Wednesday’s report, bringing the total sold since the beginning of 2009 to 29,134,000. That is nearly nine million more than the 2008-dated silver coins which held the previous annual record. The Mint is set to release the 2010 eagles on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Read More…

Anyone who reads the paper or pays attention to the news on the television or the radio can tell you that precious metal demand was extremely high in 2009. Owing to this almost insatiable appetite for silver, the United States Mint revealed record sales of its American Eagle Silver Bullion coins for the year.
The final 2009 tally from the US Mint places the one ounce silver bullion at 28,766,500, a leap of over 9 million coins above the previous annual record created just the year before — 2008 saw 19,583,500 of the Silver Eagles sold, which in itself was amazing. Previous to those two years, sales of the Eagles only broke the 10 million mark twice (in 2002 and 2006) since their introduction. Read More…
