US Mint Silver Coin Sales Ramp Up

The United States Mint’s weekly allotment of bullion American Silver Eagles was set at 920,500 coins on Monday, and all of it was ordered by Tuesday. Two more weekly rounds of rationing are left, since the Mint said it would continue to produce 2015 Silver Eagles through the week of December 7. Currently, the year-to-date record sales equal 44,850,000 or 844,000 more than last year’s sales.
Sales of the U.S. Mint’s 2015 Silver Proof Set moved up 9,103 to 315,116
Also on Monday, Saratoga 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins launched, and all 45,000 of them were gone by Tuesday. Sales of the collector uncirculated version, which is available directly from the Mint to the public, started Thursday but there has not been an update about its first day sales.
As for the rest of the numismatic line up, most of the silver coin products saw greater demand this past week, according to the latest United States Mint sales stats. This surge generally represents the kick-off to the gift-giving season. Shoppers sought the 2015 Silver Proof Sets and 2015-W Proof Silver Eagles, giving their numbers a boost of 9,103 and 7,676 respectively.

The U.S. Mint released the 2015 Saratoga Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin on Monday, and it garnered debut sales of 35,800. It sold out on Tuesday with final sales of 45,000. Totals for all of the silver coins released since 2013 are below.
