Weekly Sales Figures for US Mint Silver Coins

With the exception of Silver Eagles, US Mint silver coin sale figures were less than exciting for the last seven days ending Sunday, Aug. 30.

The 2009 Silver Proof Set was the biggest gainer in collector coins. Sales climbed by 12,852 versus the prior 17,845. It will take about a month for the sets to break 500,000 at the current pace.

Interestingly, Proof Braille Silver Dollars seemed to have found a comfort zone with weekly increases in the 600-650 range. Collectors have now purchased 118,670 of the commemoratives.

The US Mint has yet to report any Bullion Silver Eagle Coin sales for September. However, eagles were hot during the last days of August. A total of 1.38 million had been sold in the month up to Aug. 26. The final August eagle tally ended at 2.13 million, marking a 750,000 leap during those few days in between. 18,764,500 is the new total for the year.
