2009 Silver Proof Set Sales Hit 558,388

The 2009 Silver Proof Set not only recovered from its recent dip, but it again garnered the most attention in the realm of numismatic silver products, the latest US Mint weekly coin sales reveal.

The silver proof set rose by 9,586 to mark a more than 2K improvement over last week's reported 7,455. The set is at 558,388, accounting for nearly $30 million in US Mint gross sales since they were launched for $52.95 on July 17.

2009 Braille Silver Dollar proof sales were also better, and for the second straight week. They picked up 1,127. Uncirculated sales were slightly behind with a combined 1,069 across all three uncirculated Braille dollar options -- 326 for the single coin, 151 within the easy-open capsule, and 592 from the Braille Education Set. As a reminder, all Braille products go off sale on Dec. 11 at 5:00 PM ET.

Bullion American Silver Eagles climbed 850,00 during the last seven days. Although that tops last Wednesday's reported 699,000, November sales need to really crank up to surpass October's 2.9 million. November is historically one of the best months of the year for bullion coins. As a notable, the eagles have passed 24 million for the year.
